WASHINGTON, D.C. — To reach out to the growing Asian community in the Washington, D.C., area, the visitors center of the Washington D.C. Temple organized a three-day Asian Pacific Celebration that attracted 3,200 visitors April 24.

Highlights included workshops and seminars, demonstrations on origami and calligraphy, performances by the Chinese Children's Chorus, folk and traditional dancers representing China, Cambodia, Tibet and Vietnam.

Also, dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii, made an appearance as part of their eastern U.S. tour, which included performances on the television networks' morning news and talk shows.
