1923 ~ 2004

ST. GEORGE, UTAH <! > Hub, 81, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in St. George from complications of Alzheimer's.

He was born April 21, 1923 in Milford, Utah to Deseret N. Hickman and Bertha V. Skillicorn. He married his sweetheart, Anna Mae Grimshaw, June 11, 1946. Hub was the seventh of 13 children. He graduated from Milford High in 1941, and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served as a Radioman in the Naval Armed Guard. He also served as a Sergeant in the Army Reserve.

Hub worked at the railroad for 20 years, then moved to Magna, Utah and worked as an engineer for Hercules. He retired in 1983 when he and Annie moved to Beaver, Utah. He was an avid music man, a member of the SPEBSQSA for 47 years and coached barbershop singing to many. Hub loved music and sports of all kinds. He played football, golf, and ran track. He participated in plays and various bands throughout his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He will be greatly missed by his survivors: wife, Anna Mae, of St. George; and five children, Karolyn (Tom) Plehal, of Cascade, ID, Gayle (Raul) Cason, of Cottonwood, AZ, Wendy (Danny) Salazar, of Bountiful, UT, Wayne (Laury) Hickman, of West Valley, UT, and Joyce (Ron) Madsen, of St. George, UT. Hub's life revolved around his 15 grandchildren and one-and-a-half great-grandchildren!!! He is also survived by two of his sisters, Betty Warden, of Bountiful, UT, and Erma Smith, of Beaver, UT. He was preceded in death by many family members, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. Visitations will be Sunday, May 16, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., prior to services, both at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT, 84770 (435) 673-2454.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 324 N. 1680 E., St. George, UT 84790.
