1931 ~ 2004

W. Kay Leavitt passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 13, 1931 in Idaho to Wallace Leavitt and Mary Neilson.

Kay served in the Marine Corps and was awarded the National Defense Medal. He was a successful small busi-ness owner for over 40 years. He was a great outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his brothers. He participated in the St. George Marathon, loved football, baseball, and was an avid golfer. He was a dedicated Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed collecting coins.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Dave, Lisa, and Annette; stepchildren, Tami, Todd, Shelli, Sherri, Troy, Debi, and Dana; six grandchildren; and 22 step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Melvin, Wayne, Dick, Sunny, and Carol. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Clark; and his sister, Mary "Lucky".

"When I die remember what you knew of me is with you always. What is buried is only the shell of what was, do not regret the shell. Remember the man, remember the father."

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18 th , 10 a.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Park Chapel, 10055 South State Street. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
