1924 ~ 2004

ROY<! >

- On Thursday, May 13, 2004 Robert Philip (Bob) Stone went home to see his brothers, his parents, and his God, after a long fight with recurrent pneumonia.

Robert was born October 20, 1924 in Murray, Utah to Philip Stone and Lydia Taylor Stone. He married Donna Joy Lasater October 18, 1946, and he always said she was the best birthday present he ever got.

Robert served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War, and worked for more than 30 years as an aircraft manager for the government. He was an avid pilot, and sometimes took his little son Kelly up to see Roy City from the air. Robert was an excellent cook, a fisherman and hunter, and a man who could fix or build anything. He was a kind man and a loving father and grandfather who was always willing to do anything for the people he loved.

Robert is survived and missed by wife, Donna Joy; son, Kelly Robert; daughter-in-law, Heather Joy; three grandchildren, who love him very much; and faithful puppy dog, Mitzi. Also survived by his big sister, Beth Rasmussen of Mesa, Arizona; and his little brother, Val Stone, and wife, Lynnel of Midvale, Utah. Preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, at 12 noon at Roy 13th Ward LDS Chapel, 5127 S. 2400 W. in Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to the service. A viewing will also be held Monday, May 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Interment, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
