"Granddad"
"Keate" passed away May 14, 2004 peacefully in the home he built 47 years ago in Bountiful, Utah.
Born to Clarence and Sallie Stevens Keate December 23, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah where he was raised. He married the love of his life Edith Rowland, October 8, 1942. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, retiring from the Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel.
This great man lived a life of loving dedication to his family. He was an example of honesty, hard work, commitment, and trustworthiness. He was an entrepreneur who started and owned his own business, Aladdin Industries.
When he spoke it was always with wisdom and insight. He shared his love for golf and travel with many dear friends. Such a proud man who gave everything he could to others until the end, even if it was a kind word.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois and Helen. He leaves behind his wife, Edie; and five children, Jeff (Jolene), Steve (Susan), Kevin, Kathleen (Scott) Thompson, Kelly (Danny) Brock; and his brother, Raymond Keate; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
We will always cherish his sense of humor and great stories, the many timeless memories and fun parties. He was the "life of the party!" Thanks for creating a life rich with good, happy, secure memories.
He and his family would like to express appreciation for the loving care he received at LDS hospital, the staff at Life Care Center and his home nurses, Brenda and Andrea.
