1921 ~ 2004
Amy C. Blaney, 82, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at her home May 12, 2004 of natural causes.
She was born in Brigham City, Utah December 18, 1921 to Leonard and Sara Jane Williams Cuthbert. She married Edwin Blaney May 10, 1941 in Farmington, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Amy was an active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous positions throughout the years. She especially enjoyed being a visiting teacher.
Amy moved to Bingham Canyon at an early age but always enjoyed spending the summers with her grandmother in Brigham City. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1939. She belonged to the Kearns Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was very proud of her pioneer heritage. She was a very intelligent, fun loving woman who loved to read. She was also very fond of cats and leaves behind three pets who were very devoted to her.
Amy is survived by her son, Edwin E. Blaney, and wife, Dianne, of South Jordan; and two daughters, Amy B. Monk, and husband, Sheldon, and Shari B. Peterson, and husband, Dan. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leon Cuthbert of Northridge, California. Preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; grandson, Ryan Monk; two brothers, Earl and George Cuthbert; and one sister, Lois Zdunich.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening May 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Utah.
