1919 ~ 2004
Nola Sabey Davis passed away in the early morning hours of May 15, 2004 surrounded by her five sons after a valiant struggle with leukemia.
Mother was born the second daughter and fourth child to loving parents, Ellis Clark Sabey and Ada Myrtle Gardner Sabey December 12, 1919 in Wallsburg, Utah. She married Elden R. Davis April 27, 1938 in Heber City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized June 6, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. To this union was born five sons, Robert E. Davis, Clark A. Davis, Stan J. Davis, Leo S. Davis, and Ronald L. Davis.
Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Elden R. Davis; her father and mother, Ellis Clark and Ada Myrtle Sabey; two brothers, Ellis Berdell (Vivian), and Charley (Mildred) Sabey; and one sister, Barta (Jay) Jacobson. She is survived by her five sons, Robert E. (Merle) Davis, Heber City, Utah, Clark A. (Linda) Davis, Chico, California, Stan J. (Vickie) Davis, Heber City, Utah, Leo S. (Lyn) Davis, Delta, Utah, and Ronald L. (Chari) Davis, Midway, Utah; one brother, Stanley (Violet) Sabey, Orem, Utah; and two sisters, Lois (Emer) Henline, Vernal, Utah, and Ada (Wrex) Lindsay, Heber City, Utah; 25 grandchildren; and 38 great-grand-children; and a dear cousin, Jo Graham, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mother spent her early years in Wallsburg, Utah. Upon the premature death of her mother, she spent three years with her Aunt Rosette Sabey Graham in Provo, Utah, then returned to Wallsburg. After marriage she spent several years in Wallsburg and later moved to Heber City where she spent the remainder of her life.
Mother was devoted to her immediate and extended family. She was a true and devoted friend and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the church she served as president of the Primary and the Relief Society. She also served in various capacities in the Sunday School, the Mutual Improvement Association and at Wasatch Stake Genealogical Library. Her life was lived in the service of others.
Mother was a homemaker. Her home was inviting, always neat and clean and a pleasant place to be. She was also an excellent cook. The aroma of fresh baked bread is a lasting memory for all family members.
Mother loved flowers. She was charter member and served as president of Heber City Garden Club. Her floral arrangements were consistent award winners at the Wasatch County Fair. The flower beds surrounding her home were an orchestrated kaleidoscope of color. She also loved to knit and crochet.
Mother loved much and that love was reciprocated by all who knew her. She will be missed.
The family extends their grateful appreciation to Dr. Gregory Taylor and the nursing staff of the Heber Valley Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Tues-day 11 a.m. at the Heber 5th Ward, 150 No. 200 W. Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services BOTH at the Church.
