Low-income, elderly and disabled Utahns will want to remember the name Division of Housing and Community Development.

It's a name change from the Utah Division of Community Development. The reason for the switch, approved by the 2004 Legislature, is to emphasize key functions of the division, according to a press release.

"We feel the name change will help bring a greater awareness of a key component of developing vibrant communities, which is providing affordable housing for residents to establish roots in those communities," said division director Gordon Walker.
