Salt Lake-based online closeout retailer Overstock.com was rated fourth in overall customer satisfaction among all participating U.S. retailers, according to the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index data.

Overstock.com scored an 81 on the latest ACSI report. The score is higher than brick-and-mortar department/discount and specialty retail stores rated by ACSI, and higher than all e-tailers scored by ACSI except for Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and eBay.com.

The ACSI is produced through a partnership of the University of Michigan Business School, the American Society for Quality and international consulting firm CFI Group.

It measures the customer experience across seven economic sectors, 38 industries, and more than 200 companies and federal or local government agencies. It uses a zero-to-100 scale, with 100 being the best.
