I was appalled at the attitude of Jeff Anderson (Readers' Forum, May 14). He seems to think that the religion and beliefs of Muslims throughout the world are represented by the barbarous acts of a few radical "followers" who claim to act in the name of that faith. His ideas are shameful examples of blind anger. I don't know many Muslims, but the few I do know are very good people.

I hope the views expressed in Anderson's letter are not shared by many Americans. Putting down that kind of traditional anger and hatred is, in part, something we are fighting. It is a cause supported by both Christians and Muslims everywhere.
