1912 ~ 2004
Irene Jones Mitchell, 91, passed away at her home on May 17, 2004, with family at her side.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 28, 1912 to Heber Lorenzo Jones and Jemima Horspool Derrick. Irene graduated from West High School in 1929. She married Donald Bud Mitchell April 8, 1932, in Farmington, Utah.
Irene is survived by her six children, Dawn (Dean) Callister of Bountiful, Jone (Con) Nelson of Ogden, John Mitchell of West Valley City, Mark (Lynne) Mitchell of Salt Lake City, Margo (Steven) Smith of Centerville, Micki (Steve) Baumgartner of Bountiful. Irene had 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Don on June 6, 1972; two brothers and four sisters.
Mother was an avid reader and loved to crochet.
We loved our mother beyond measure, simple words can not convey this. We will miss her dearly and thank her for the integrity that she instilled in us.
Graveside services will be held Thurs., May 20, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and Thurs. from 11:45-12:45 prior to the graveside.
