Ban beer commercials

I have a question: Why ban cigarette commercials from radio and television but not beer commercials?

I've learned that beer can be as destructive as cigarettes. Thousands of people die each year from being hit by drunken drivers. Shouldn't we try to lower that number? Every day kids get involved with alcohol and ruin their lives. Alcohol can lead to the use of other drugs.

I believe that beer and alcohol are destroying lives just as much as cigarettes.
