AMERICAN FORK — Police say a loud fight in a grove of trees just off I-15 in American Fork was not as sinister is it first appeared.

Witnesses told police they saw some men beating a woman in the trees just after midnight on May 9. Late-night shoppers at a nearby Target store said they heard her screams and scared the men by honking car horns. The men and the woman then left in a car.

But police now say that just a teenage boy and teenage girl were involved in the altercation. They tracked down the pair, who live in Salt Lake City, and confirmed that the girl was safe, American Fork Lt. Darren Falslev said.
