Before the season started, Steve Cramblitt announced he would be retiring after his Taylorsville baseball team finished the year. He would not say what he would do when that time came, but after months of speculation the suspense is over.

Cramblitt has accepted a job at Juan Diego High School to coach its baseball team and run its athletic department next year. The coaching position became available just a couple of weeks ago after Coach Mike McNary and his staff were suspended for a student discipline incident. It was never announced what McNary's future entailed, but it has now become clear.

Juan Diego is coming off back-to-back state titles, so Cramblitt and his experience are expected to maintain a high level.

Dr. Galey Colosimo, principal of Juan Diego, said, "We are thrilled to have Cramblitt to oversee our 20 sports teams and provide a fresh perspective to Soaring Eagle baseball. He is viewed by many to be the finest high school baseball coach west of the Mississippi."
