ANDREW MORRIS, Weber: With 15 goals so far this year, including two in a first-round victory over West Jordan last week, sophomore Andrew Morris is well on his way to an illustrious career at Weber High School.
In addition to his state tournament goals last week, Morris notched two hat tricks the week before as the Warriors locked up the Region 1 championship.
In addition to his soccer exploits, Morris was a starter on the Weber's varsity basketball team and a member of the junior varsity cross country team.
Morris is an avid rock climber and also maintains a 4.0 GPA.
DABNEY SUNDQUIST, Taylorsville: This senior is the fuel that drives the top-ranked 5A softball team.
"She's our spark plug," said Taylorsville softball coach Rich Kaelin. "She's the lead-off hitter, and she's the person we count on to get on base. She's done a heck of a job for us defensively at second base, and she had 15 of our 21 put-outs against Timpanogos."
She's batting over .500 for the Warriors who play second ranked Bingham today in the state tournament. Sundquist earned a 4.0 last semester and has a 3.57 overall. She signed with Dixie, where she'll continue her incredible softball career.
"She's the backbone of our team," Kaelin said. "She's had an incredible season."
