Lots of us are wondering why the press has chosen to commit massive space to the Iraqi prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib while virtually burying the story of the beheading of Nick Berg after one day of reporting. Fred Barnes, Fox News commentator, said it best. "The press wants to tell us what to think, but they can't. They can, however, effectively, tell us what to think about."
If you wonder what possible motive the press could have, consider politics as the answer. The only real follow-up on this story occurred when Nick Berg's father publicly blamed George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld for his son's death.
