SALT LAKE CITY — Utah forward/center Andrew Bogut plans to return for his sophomore season.

New coach Ray Giacoletti returned Wednesday from Australia, where he met with Bogut and his parents and was told by Bogut he would be coming back to the Utes and not going professional.

"Andrew wanted to wait to talk to his parents back home before coming to a conclusion on his plans for next year, and I really enjoyed having the chance to meet Andrew's family face-to-face," Giacoletti said. "Now with this behind us, everyone can focus on having a great summer."

Bogut, who's 6-feet-10, 233 pounds, started every game as a freshman and averaged 12.5 points and 9.9 rebounds.

Giacoletti was hired at the end of March to replace Rick Majerus, who resigned abruptly in the middle of the season because of his ailing health. Bogut said after Giacoletti's hiring that he wanted to return to Australia before deciding whether to return to college or go pro.
