Kathleen Hume, 50, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at her home from complications of cancer.
She was born December 12, 1953 in Provo, Utah, the daughter of Donald Earl and Marcella Jensen Hume.
Kathleen had lived in Brigham City, Centerville and Layton. She graduated from Box Elder High School Class of 1972 and attended WSU where she obtained her Registered Nursing degree.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in the Young Women's organization. Her hobbies included ceramics, stitchery, horses and scuba diving.
Kathleen worked for 24 years in the Operating Room at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful. She was one of the first members of Utah's "Operation Smile," where she traveled to foreign countries with other medical practitioners to perform surgical procedures to repair pediatric facial deformities.
Surviving are her parents of Syracus; two brothers Richard (Barbara) Tuttle of Layton; Gary Hume of Syracuse; nephew Brian Tuttle and niece Michelle (Brian) Bennett.
Preceded in death by a niece Andrea Tuttle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse South Bluff Ward, 3065 S. Bluff Road.
Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
Family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
