This letter is in response to the May 5 column by Lee Davidson, titled "WWII memorial marks price of freedom." Mr. Davidson's article was very interesting to me. The one thing that ticked me off was he referred to Nazi regiments and Nazi troops. He, as a journalist, should be more knowledgeable and precise when referring to the troops as Nazis.

When I arrived with my husband and 6-year-old son in Salt Lake City in March of 1953, children on the Avenues at times would not play with my son. They said to him, "You are a Hitler!" I consoled my son, telling him not the children but their parents are ignorant.

When Hitler came into power, I was 12 years old, meaning I did not vote for him. When I was 21 years old, of voting age, there were no elections anymore. I hope you see the point. The German troops or regiments were a result of a draft. Believe me, not all were Nazis.
