UTAH LAKE — Occupants of a fast-sinking boat were rescued by another boater on Utah Lake on Sunday morning.

Steven Beaton called the Utah County sheriff's dispatch at 6:53 a.m. because his boat hit something and was sinking rapidly about a mile west of Lincoln Beach. Beaton's two sons, ages 5 and 8, also were on the boat, a Utah County sheriff's statement said.

The father and sons climbed on top of the bow as they waited for help from the sheriff's office, search and rescue, state parks personnel and Payson police, the statement said.
