1924 ~ 2004
Lilo Lingmann quietly passed away on June 20, 2004 after an extended illness with liver disease. She was a loving and caring mother who worked hard all of her life. Lilo's infectious laugh will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Lilo was born March 5, 1924 to Max Albert Gruner and Anna Klara Gruner in Glauchau, Sachson, Germany. She married Henry Lingmann, September 11, 1947 in Glauchau, Germany (later divorced); the couple immigrated to Utah with their children in April, 1956.
Once in Utah, Lilo worked hard to learn the language and the lifestyle. She worked at Neighborhood House as a bookkeeper for many years where she made many lasting friendships. Lilo retired from Neighborhood House in 1998 and remembered her time there fondly.
Lilo is survived by her six children: Elona (Murray) Hayward, Udo, Knut (Charlie), Michael (Laurie), Connie Kelson, and Dennis; ten grandchildren: David (Lori), Stephen, and Lisa Hayward; Alicia, Christopher, Jeffrey, and Aaron Lingmann; Ashley and Udo Lingmann; and Nicole Kelson; and three great-grandchildren: James, Tyler, and Madison Hayward. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and dear friend Esther Vilart. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, where friends may call from 1:45-2:45 p.m. prior to the graveside services. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Highland Care for the loving care and concern they showed our mother.
