President Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will celebrate his 94th birthday today in the nation's capital.
He'll be at the White House to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom — the nation's highest civil honor — from President Bush.
Born in Salt Lake City on June 23, 1910, he has served as the 15th president of the church since March 12, 1995, and has been a general authority for more than 46 years.
