Gerald "Jerry" Monroe Collins passed away June 22, 2004.

He was born February 24, 1931 in Murray, UT to Monroe Howard and Priscilla (Yates) Collins. He married Sharon Anderson McKee on June 28, 1968. They were later divorced.

Jerry worked for Daw Construction for many years. He was a talented craftsman and carpenter. He liked to invent things that made life easier and built many items that will be cherished for generations. He loved cooking, gardening, fishing and bowling. (He rolled a lot of strikes.) He was also a big supporter of youth sports. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He had loyal friends and was loyal in return. He loved his family and grandchildren very much. He will be missed.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jeremy (Lisa) Monroe Collins; stepdaughter, Mindy (Greg) Merrill; grandchildren, Ashley and Abigail Collins, Griffen, Taylor and Madeline Merrill; sister, Donna (Lloyd) Thornton; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 10 a.m. Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 25th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St.
