Cyprus isn’t Cypress

SHARE Cyprus isn’t Cypress

In the Friday Business briefs a small headline read "Titleist Electric lands Cypress High contract." Countless times I have seen the newspaper and local news stations mistakenly use the word Cypress (as in the tree) when mentioning the Cyprus High Pirates (named for the island near Greece).

As an alumnus of the school that opened its doors in 1918, I am bothered by this error. I suppose a brand-new school might expect to have its name spelled wrong, but I see no explanation for this. Ask Granut, Olimpus or Skiline how long they would let it continue.
