I appreciate the comments made by Eric Samuelson in the July 9 Readers' Forum. Over and over the LDS Church has said that it does not make political recommendations. What people need to understand is that it is possible to be "for" or "against" certain issues in politics without feeling that we must impose those feelings on others. While it's true that most LDS people may be against certain issues for themselves, it is not necessarily true that all feel that others shouldn't have a choice. We should not judge others or say that others can't be "good people" if they don't feel the same as we do. Separation of church and state is imperative in democracy.
