Frank Pignanelli claims that Utahns don't want school choice (July 18), but he conveniently ignores a few important facts.
First, the parents of 2,000 children waiting to get into Utah charter schools are clearly dissatisfied with their traditional public school options. Second, Gov. Olene Walker failed to get out of the Republican convention, precisely because she couldn't convince these most educated citizens that she supported school choice.
Like the rest of the education establishment, Pignanelli is willing to use misinformation, disinformation and whatever other deceptive tactics are necessary to protect the public school monopoly. Perhaps that's because their ideology is their reality.
