State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. has lowered its overall private passenger rate level in Utah an average of 6.7 percent.
The change took effect Aug. 1. It represents an annual savings of $13 million to the company's Utah customers, the company said.
The company's overall private passenger rate level in Utah is now 9.7 percent lower than it was seven years ago, State Farm said.
Decreases are occurring in comprehensive coverage and liability, personal injury protection and collision coverages. Premiums are decreasing because the company is increasing the size of its accident-free discounts.
Overall premium charges for individual drivers will vary depending on factors such as the coverages they carry and the discounts for which they qualify.
