PAYSON (AP) — City officials have sent out notices to residents reminding them that water restrictions are still in place.

Water Superintendent Gordon White said the notice is just to remind residents there are two more months to keep the watering schedule.

"I just want to make sure we have water until the end of the summer. We've got the water, it's just that there is no need to let it run down the street," White said.

The restrictions allow residents at odd numbered addresses to water only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Even-numbered addresses can water Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All residents are prohibited from watering from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Sundays.

The notices say residents who violate the ordinance can be charged with a misdemeanor, which carries up to $750 in fines or up to 90 days in jail.
