1942 ~ 2004
James Allen Peeler, 62, of Chino California passed away on August 16, 2004, due to complication from open-heart surgery.
He was born May 18, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Ellis and Ruby Lucile Peeler. He married Anna Lois Bowthorpe of Holladay, Utah, June 16, 1967 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two and half year mission in the Central German Mission from 1962 to1965. He graduated from Olympus High School in 1960 and attended both the University of Utah and Brooks Institute of Photography, in Santa Barbara, California.
Jim has a great love for learning especially about scientific things. He always loved astronomy and built and owned many telescopes. He studied and worked in photography and became well know in Utah for those skills. When computers started to become common he self taught himself all about them and became a true expert in the operation and programming of them. He lived much of his early life in Utah. In 1985 he moved with his family to Southern California to head the computer operations for a firm of Certified Public Accountants. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lois, of Chino CA; his five children, Carol (Aaron) Palmer of Victorville, CA; Benjamin James (Erica) Peeler of Stockton, CA; Wade (Geysa) Peeler of Salt Lake City; Robert (Leah) Peeler of Fullerton, CA; and Laurel (David) Morphis of Chino, CA; and five grandchildren: Bradley, Emma, Felipe, Gracie and Tanner. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Kalmar, Anaheim, CA and brother, David Peeler of Saratoga Springs, UT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may call for an hour preceding the funeral. Funeral services are also being held Thursday, August 19, 2004 in Chino, California. Burial will be in the Holladay Memorial Cemetery.
