Salt Lake County's Utah State University Extension Office will offer classes on enhancing marriage and on making wise home-buying decisions.

The Utah Commission on Marriage will help offer a two-part "Utah Marriage Enhancement Training" on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 8 and 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. The class is free, but preregistration is required by Sept. 2. The class focuses on communication skills.

A home buyer education program, "Opening the Door to Home Ownership," will take participants through various steps of the home-purchasing process. Classes will be held this Wednesday and Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per household and today is the last day to preregister. If participants attend both evening sessions, a certificate of completion for affordable loan programs will be presented.
