1917 ~ 2004

Norma Cranney Webb Fugal passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on August 25, 2004.

She was born June 2, 1917 in Smoot, Wyoming, the 11th and youngest child of Wilford Woodruff and Laura Mickelsen Cranney. Her early years were spent on a ranch in Star Valley, Wyoming. At age nineteen she met a young seminary teacher, Lynn R. Webb, who was boarding with her parents.

Lynn and Norma were married on her 20th birthday in the Logan Temple. Lynn's assignments as a seminary teacher took them to Lyman, Wyoming, and Kanab, Heber City, Draper, and Lehi, Utah, where they made lifelong friends. They were blessed with six children: Lynn Robert, Jr. (Leslie) of Orem; Lynda Steele (Darryl) of Salt Lake City; Van (deceased); Randy (Diana) of Sandy; David (Marie) of Sandy; and Brent (Amy) of Orem. Lynn passed away in 1972. Mom had returned to BYU where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. She worked at the Utah State Training School in American Fork for many years. She married Neil Y. Fugal in 1981, and they enjoyed five happy years of companionship together, including a mission to the St. George Visitors Center. Her Webb posterity includes 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and she loved and was loved by Neil Fugal's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well. Her life was filled with generous service; she served faithfully in the church until her passing. She loved to teach the gospel, and she was a master teacher. She championed the cause of the overlooked and the unfortunate. Her greatest joy came from gathering her children and grandchildren for celebrations and family traditions. Mom was a wonderful cook and homemaker, and she often shared meals with those in need. She valued her pioneer heritage, and passed that appreciation on to her descendants. She fulfilled her greatest desire to be faithful to the end in her testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Timpanogos 1st and 7th Ward Chapel, 200 North 400 East, Pleasant Grove.
