"The Wilk" — A shortened reference to the Wilkinson Student Center, the social hub of the BYU campus. "Let's go to the dance Friday at the Wilk."

"Sif-lus" — An unfortunate-sounding slur of the acronym SFLC, which stands for the Smith Family Living Center, "After I have class in the HFAC, I'll meet you in front of the 'Sif-lus.' " The building has recently been revamped and renamed the Joseph F. Smith Building. School administration is probably hoping to shake the old disease-ridden moniker.

"The Tech" — A retro reference to the school, which was once a technical college.

Hall of Shame — A nickname for the school's connecting hallway, which is lined with flags, and a prime spot for blatant people-watching.

BYUVSC

"NCMO" — Acronym for "Non-committal makeout," an occasional hobby for some students who swap kissing partners as often as they switch majors. "I wouldn't mind a little NCMO with that hottie."

"RM" — Acronym for someone who has completed an LDS Church mission "That guy is RM so he's at least 21, which means he's date-worthy."
