Donald Alvah Evans, age 82, passed away Sunday August 1, 2004 in Delta, Utah.

He was born July 7, 1922 in Peoa, Utah to Hugh Alvah and Leaone Maxwell Evans. He married Norma Erickson on January 19, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Elders Quorum as a home teacher and as a Sunday School Teacher.

Don moved to Delta in 1945 to work for Brooklawn Creamery. He later worked for Moody Brothers, then at Delta High School where he loved working with the faculty and students. Don was known throughout the state for his quality livestock. He won many awards for his sheep and hogs. He loved his animals and always had his faithful dog with him.

Survived by wife of 56 years: Norma, Delta, Utah; foster son: Gil (Jenny) Keith of Blanding, Utah; daughters: Jackie (Reid) Ludwig, Delta, Utah; Marilee (Bart) Cox, Orangeville, Utah; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Berniece (Craig) Straw, Kaysville, Utah; Beth (Elmer) Johnson, Salt Lake City, Utah. Preceded in death by foster-son: Steven Keith; sister: Grace; brother: Ralph.

Funeral services will be held

Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Delta Stake Center, 72 N. Center, Delta. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary, Wednesday at the church 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.
