William (Bill) Orlo Linford passed away July 28, 2004 in Salt Lake City. He was 90-years-old.

Bill was born August 25, 1913, in Garland, Utah, to George Albert and Elizabeth Chadwick Linford. On June 1, 1938, he married Donna Boss in the LDS Logan Temple. They have been married for 67 years.

Bill is survived by Donna; children Richard W. (Marilynne) Linford, Rosann (N. Leroy) Stanko, and Robert O. Linford, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Arletta Shirey, Irene Linford, Elizabeth Anne Linford and by his brothers George L., Parley, Arthur, Joseph, Charles, and Cyril.

Bill influenced more than 2,000 students during his 44-year career as teacher and principal --- 18 years in Box Elder County and 26 years in Contra Costa County, California. Summers he worked at the Utah-Idaho Sugar factory, farming, and as a carpenter. After retiring, Bill and Donna moved from Concord, California to Salt Lake City. Bill took joy in family visits and accomplishments. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed softball, golf, and traveling. He served in the Utah National Guard. He was Elder's Quorum president, stake Sunday School Superintendent, gospel doctrine teacher, ward clerk, and scoutmaster. For 12 years he was the California Berkeley Stake seminary director. Bill and Donna enjoyed service as temple workers in the Jordan River Temple and as missionaries in San Diego.

Funeral services: Saturday, August 7, 2004, 11:30 a.m., Forest View Ward, 1111 Charlton Ave. (2815 S. 1100 E.) Salt Lake City. Friends may visit with the family at the ward from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Graveside service: Garland, Utah Cemetery, 4 p.m.
