Whoever wrote the editorial concerning voting problems for the disabled should have checked his facts. I have been an election judge for many years, and we have always had a voting booth that was a little lower than the rest to accommodate a wheelchair.

There has always been a voting machine with a larger stylus for those who have a hard time gripping the standard one. Also, election judges are given explicit instructions on how to take a voting machine to a car for the benefit of one who can't come in.

There is always absentee voting for those who are housebound. Care is taken to provide the opportunity to vote to all those eligible.

  1. Fewer comments automatically sent to moderation (we hope).
  2. Lower tolerance for uncivil comments. If you encounter a warning that your comment will be sent to moderation, try revising before you submit for the best chance of approval.
