The funeral for Elder David B. Haight, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will begin promptly at noon in the Tabernacle on Temple Square today — Thursday, Aug. 5. The public is invited to attend.

Elder Haight, 97, the oldest apostle, died July 31, 2004, of causes incident to age.

There will be no public viewing, and burial services will be private.

Tabernacle doors will open at 11 a.m., and those attending the funeral should be in their seats by 11:30. Overflow locations will be the Assembly Hall on Temple Square and the chapel of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

The Haight family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Church Missionary Fund at www.lds.org/Haight.

No live television broadcasts will be available. Live audio will be available only on the Internet at: www.lds.org.
