GREEN RIVER, Emery County — Two men are dead and four seriously injured following a rollover on I-70 near the West Green River Junction on Wednesday morning.
Killed were:
Juan De La Rosa, 67, Denver, Colo.
Julio De La Torre, 39, Denver, Colo.
De La Rosa and De La Torre were passengers in a sport utility vehicle headed east, toward Colorado, when the vehicle went off the road into the median strip. The car came back onto the road and rolled several times. The vehicle came to rest upside-down, blocking both lanes of oncoming traffic, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Wade Breur.
As the vehicle rolled, four passengers were ejected. Of the four, one was killed instantly. Of the two inside the vehicle, one died due to sustained injuries. Surviving occupants were transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., via air and ground, Breur said.
Both lanes were closed and traffic was routed through on the shoulder for several hours following the accident, Breur said.
