Jarvis Barber Miles, 78, passed away Friday September 17, 2004 at his home in Centerville, Utah.

He was born March 15, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of George Jarvis and Nora Barber Miles. Married Irene Schroeder August 20, 1954 in Salt Lake City.

Jarvis was a lifelong resident of Centerville. He graduated from Davis High School and was a member of the LDS Church. He was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator. Jarvis served in the Navy during World War II, he was a member of the Ambassador Duck Club, a true sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife. Irene, of Centerville; son, George J. Miles, Bountiful; daughter, Jessica M. Thune, Coto De Caza, CA; five grandchil-dren; and two great-grandchildren; also by his brother, Reg Miles, Centerville; and sisters, Josephine Bothmann, Oceanside, CA, and Emily Pickens, San Diego, CA. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Miles.

Memorial services will by held 3 p.m. Wednesday September 22, 2004 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Interment, Centerville City Cemetery.
