Prosecutors charged two men Tuesday in the beating and robbery of two other men.

The men, ages 24 and 25, were charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping, both first-degree felonies, in 3rd District Court.

On April 12, one man with a split, bleeding lip and another man with swollen eyes flagged down a police officer because they had been beaten. Two men accompanied them to several automatic teller machines in West Valley City and forced them to withdraw about $1,000 from their accounts, charges state.

The mother of one of the defendants noticed he had $500, according to the charges. She asked him where he got it. He replied that two men were hitting on him. He beat them up and "made them drive me around to some ATMs," charges state.
