Viola Gates Shanley, age 84, passed away September 20, 2004 in Orem, Utah of causes incident to age.
Born August 25, 1920 in Escalante, Utah to William Henry and Lily Nathelia Pratt Gates. Married Keith Jerome Shanley April 16, 1940 in Manila, Utah. Sealed in Salt Lake LDS Temple January 16, 1957. Viola was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She served a service mission with her husband in the 9th Ward, Liberty Stake.
Survived by her children, Keith Jerald (Linda) Shanley and Lorraine (Denton) Cameron; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Carlton, and two brothers, Leone (Shirley) Gates and Pratt (Arcola) Gates. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Keith, on December 2, 1999. Also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Valeen Gates, and brother-in-law, Leo Carlton.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at 12:00 Noon at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Service on Friday at the Funeral Home. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
