"Gone With the Wind," by Cecil B. DeMille. See Scarlett and Rhett one more time in this movie classic from 1939 presented at 6 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Children ages 8 and older are welcome. The event is sponsored by the Special Collections Motion Picture Archives Film Series at Brigham Young University. Friday, Sept. 24
"Nathan the Wise," through Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in the Pardoe Theater at Brigham Young University. Nathan, a Jewish debt collector, faces the eternal question of which religion God would have for man—Judaism, Christianity or Islam—when he is confronted by a Muslim sultan who has power over his life and a Christian knight who loves his daughter. $12 ($3 off with BYU or student ID). "Peter Breinholt," at Thanksgiving Point's "Hot Autumn Nights," the last of the summer's concert series at the Waterfall amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door, available at Ticketmaster outlets and the Show Barn box office. Saturday, Sept. 25
"On Golden Pond." Tonight is closing night for this touching story of love, devotion and family, presented by the Little Brown Theater, 254 S. Main, Springville, at 7:30 p.m.
Head's up on the "chick flick" of the week. Opening Friday is "First Daughter," rated PG. However, if you want to stayhome and "veg" all weekend, bring home this week's release of the newly enhanced "Star Wars" collection.
