PROVO — The United Way of Utah County Volunteer Center offers residents a wide variety of volunteer and service opportunities throughout the county. Listed below are this week's featured volunteer needs:
Recreation and Habilitation (RAH!) is looking for volunteers to do detail cleaning on RAH! vans, or upholstery and carpet cleaning. Individuals of all ages or small groups are welcome. For more information, contact Cheryl at 374-8074.
The Cambry House, a grief-counseling center, needs volunteers over age 18 to assist senior citizens on field trips. Ideas for trips include camping and riding the Heber Creeper; volunteers' ideas are also welcome. Contact Lynn at 465-9820 for details.
The American Red Cross needs volunteers to join the Disaster Action Team. Team members go on assignment to other disaster areas as well as help in local disasters. Adults over age 18 only, please. Contact Nancy at 373-8580 for further information.
Girl Scouts of Utah welcomes event participants as specialists or speakers to help the Girl Scouts earn badges. To inquire about subject matter, contact Angela or Pattie at 224-9852.
Through the Mentor Advocate Program at the Food and Care Coalition, volunteers have the opportunity to offer friendship, guidance and support to patrons, helping them reach their own potential of self-sufficiency. Contact Kena at 373-1825 for information.
