Mountain View's overtime victory over Layton on Friday surprised most entrants in last week's Deseret Morning News Grid Picks contest for Utah County. Most prognosticators picked Layton to defeat the then-winless Bruins, and no one correctly picked all 10 winners.
Jon Varney of Highland correctly picked nine games. He is among the seven best prognosticators, each of whom can drop by the Deseret Morning News' Utah County Bureau and pick up a Grid Picks T-shirt.
Other winners from last week are: Chance Varney, Highland; Brad Bess, Francis; Troy Andreasen, Brigham City; Trevor Varney, Highland; Courtney Gressmen, Midway; and Viv Prescott, Mesa, Ariz.
This week's contest ends at noon Friday. Readers can enter online at deseretnews.com/utahcounty and pick the winners of: Spanish Fork at Timpview, Payson at Provo, Springville at American Fork, Mountain View at Lone Peak, Timpanogos at Pleasant Grove, Lehi at Carbon, Judge Memorial at Wasatch, Orem at Delta, Juab and North Summit, and Grand at South Summit. The Dons-Thunderbirds game is the tiebreaker game, where entrants also predict the final score.
UTAH COUNTY CONTEST RULES: Ballots are published online each week, Aug. 23 through Oct. 18. Each weekly contest ends at noon Friday. However, if the contest includes a Thursday game, the contest will end at noon the day of the earliest game. You may enter via deseretnews.com anytime before the deadline.
Only one entry each week per person allowed. A valid e-mail address must accompany each entry; one entry per e-mail address per week. Entrants must be at least 13 years old.

Each week, the seven entrants predicting the most games correctly each win a Grid Picks T-shirt. Winners will be notified by mail. Prizes must be picked up during regular business hours at the Deseret Morning News Utah County Bureau, 1280 S. 800 East, Suite 300, Orem, at least one week after the contest ends but no later than Dec. 30.
