Alliant Techsystems Inc., the largest supplier of ammunition and rocket motors to the U.S. military, on Wednesday confirmed its fiscal 2005 sales and profit forecasts.

Alliant expects sales in the year ending in March will exceed $2.7 billion, with earnings per share of $3.85 to $3.95, chief financial officer Eric Rangen said on a Webcast, repeating a forecast given on Aug. 5.

The company, which is based in Edina, Minn., and has Utah operations in Magna, Clearfield and Promontory, had net income last year of $4.14 a share on sales of $2.37 billion.
