WOMEN'S GOLF: BYU fought through the rain and cold to hold on for a third-place finish Tuesday at the Ron Moore Classic. With temperatures in the mid-40s with a driving rain at the par-72 Highlands Ranch Golf Course, just two golfers shot even par and scores shot up by nearly four strokes, with the 89-golfer field averaging 82.26 in the final round. Three Cougars finished in the top 20. Natalie Newren tied for seventh, Margaret Gibby landed one stroke back in 10th and Rachel Newren shot a 230 to tie for 16th place. Gibby shot the Cougars' lowest score of the rain-soaked third round with a 77.
Utah State
VOLLEYBALL: The Aggies travel to Idaho for a Big West match today and then play at UC Davis on Saturday in a non-conference match.
Utah State is 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in league play after losing a pair of Big West matches at home last weekend to Cal State Northridge and Pacific. Idaho is 6-3 on the year and 1-1 in the conference, while UC Davis is 1-10 on the season.
The Aggies are 11-9 all-time against Idaho, which includes a 4-4 road record. USU has won five of the last six matches played in the series. USU will be facing UC Davis for just the second time ever.
Utah State will return home on Tuesday for an in-state match with Brigham Young at 6 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
SOCCER: The Aggies (2-5) looks to stay unbeaten at home as it hosts the UC Davis Aggies today at 4 p.m. USU has outscored its opponents 8-0 at Bell Field this season.
Utah State and UC Davis will meet for the first time on Thursday. UC Davis is the last team on USU's roster it will face for the first time this season. The only other team USU faced for the first time this season was Utah Valley State.
UC Davis is 2-5 on the season following a 1-0 home win against UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.

VOLLEYBALL: At Pocatello, Idaho, Idaho State beat the Wolverines in three games at Reed Gym on Tuesday. ISU out-blocked UVSC 12-6, and forced the Wolverines to make 30 attack errors. The Wolverines' normal offensive attack of Deise Borghetti and Alina Wallauer was contained by ISU. Both were held to hitting percentages of less than .100. Borghetti did finish the match with 10 kills, but made seven attack errors in 33 attempts. Wallauer ended up tallying nine kills, while making seven errors on 29 total attacks. As a team, UVSC hit just .111. UVSC will take on UNLV on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Orem.
