Edna T. Schwemin "Hey Bingo pals, win the blackout for me." MESQUITE, NEVADA - Edna T. Schwemin, age 83, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in Mesquite, Nevada, after a short illness. She was born November 25, 1921, in Hoytsville, Utah, a daughter of Frank Hamilton and Priscilla Mills Taylor. Edna grew up and attended school in Park City, Utah. She married Harold C. Carpenter in 1939. Harold was killed in a mining accident in 1946. She later met and married the love of her life, Raymond N. Schwemin, in 1948. They had 52 wonderful years together before Ray died in 2000. Edna was employed by the railroad during World War II. After marrying Ray, she took a few years off to become a full-time mother. Later, she had a career as a Beautician for a few years before she and Ray retired to live in Southern Nevada. Both Ray and Edna had a zest for life that included a lot of bowling and fishing during their retirement years. Edna made many friends playing Bingo in Boulder City and Mesquite. Edna is survived by her: daughter, Claudine (Don) Schwidt, of Mesquite, NV; sons, Fred (Patti) Schwemin and Harold (Julie) Carpenter, of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Chris, Dameon, Paul, Curtis, and Philip; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Nikolas; and one sister, Elva (Ron) Mahoney, of Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her: husbands; brothers, Harold, Roy, and James; sister, Priscilla; and parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, January14, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1058 W. 400 S., Salt Lake City, UT. There will be a visitation one-half hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Park City Cemetery, Park City, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff , St. George, UT 84770, (435) 673-2454.
