Once again, the Deseret Morning News and its "Cover A Game Contest" are affording a Jazz fan the chance to sit at press row, write a game story and see it published in the newspaper.
The grand prize is attending the Jan. 22 Utah-Memphis game as the guest of the Deseret Morning News' Jazz beat writer, Tim Buckley, with dinner in the press room, an interview with KFAN radio personalities, a photo taken with a Jazz player, and covering the game from "press row," with the story you write appearing in the next day's newspaper. Also, the grand-prize winner is given VIP tickets for two guests.
Entries in the annual Cover a Game Contest are now being accepted for adults 18 and older. A similar contest will be held with a March deadline for seventh- through 11-graders.
To enter submit a sample sports story about any basketball game — including the Jazz, college or high school. Your story may be from a game you watch on TV or in person. Please write your story as though you were covering the game for the newspaper as its sports reporter.
