Aline Durfey Parke 1909 ~ 2005 Aline Durfey Parke, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away January 12, 2005 in American Fork, Utah. She was 95 years of age. With her loving husband once again. She was born December 13, 1909 in Beaver Dam, Box Elder County, Utah to Francillo Findley Durfey II and Mary Elizabeth Wood. She was the 2nd great-granddaughter of Heber C. Kimball. Aline loved her pioneer history and the great town of Beaver Dam. She married Elbert Ernell Parke June 7, 1939 in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized June 3 1964 in Salt Lake Temple. Ernell "Red" preceded her in death November 21, 1972 in Salt Lake. Aline attended District School in Beaver Dam, Box Elder High School, and LDS Business College in Salt Lake. She loved her family so very much. She was 11 years old when her mother died due to complications from child birth of twins. Aline, the oldest, accepted the responsibility to help raise her brothers and sisters. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in various callings in the church until her health failed her. Aline lived in Salt Lake all of her married life. She was a member of Valley View Stake, Valley View 6th Ward until one year ago. She is presently a member of American Fork 19th Ward, American Fork, Utah. Member Daughter's of Utah Pioneers Chapter Alpha Bolton. She was a widow for 32 years and kept a beautiful yard with roses and peonies as well as raspberries. She loved to ride horses and loved animals of every kind. Music was a great joy to her. She is survived by two sons, Charles Curtis (Marva Taylor), Highland, UT, and Duane Durfey (Margaret Lemon), American Fork, UT; one daughter, Mary Louise (Alton Jacob "Ajay") Gerritsen, Salt Lake, Utah. She received so much joy from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchil-dren and praised them continually. She had 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren at time of her death. Aline is also survived by her sister, Thora Peterson of Richland, Washington as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters, Carma Johnson, Dorothy Durfey (twin to brother Dal); brothers, Ross, Theo (Buck), Dallon (Dal) Durfey. She filled her life with dignity and died peacefully. The family would like to thank everyone for the love and care shown to Aline in the 32 years as a widow. Family wishes to offer a special loving thanks to Dr. Jennifer Norris and Dr. David Curtis at St. Mark's Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Valley View 6th LDS Ward chapel, 1985 East 2900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
