Pilots flying in and out of Salt Lake City International Airport had low visibility on Thursday, causing delays and diversions.
Smaller flights were canceled. Some planes were diverted to airports in Boise and Pocatello, Idaho, and Grand Junction, Colo., according to airport officials.
Passengers waited at those airports for conditions in Salt Lake City to clear so they could fly back. Passengers of at least one flight waiting in Pocatello took a bus to Salt Lake City.
Cloud seeding began at 7 p.m. and was expected to continue until visibility improved.
