Van Dyne Madsen 1908 ~ 2005 MONROE/CEDAR CITY - Van Dyne Hutchings Adams Madsen, 96, passed away on Jan. 20, 2005 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born September 24, 1908 in Parowan, Utah to Reuben Miles and Flossie Forrester Benson Hutchings. She married Dorius Olney Adams on June 15, 1927 and he passed away on Oct. 7, 1951. She married Fred Goold Madsen on June 7, 1953 with their marriage being solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 12, 1963. He passed away in June of 2001. She was a member of the LDS Church and held positions in the MIA organization. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always enjoyed her family and friends. She is survived by children, Mattie Jean Harris, Cathedral City, CA; David Dorius (Annette Halterman) Adams, Rexburg, ID; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Ramsey of Washington, D.C. She is preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two daughters, Mary Jane Boutsis and Vanda Dennett; sisters, Helen Weber and Beth Buckner; brothers, Lamar Hutchings and Richard Hutchings; two grandsons, Lance Dennett and Michael Howes; and great-granddaughter, Madison Nies. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Canyon View LDS Stake Center, 1985 North Main, Cedar City, where friends may call on Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery, Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Online guest book www.maglebymortuary.com.
